That's another point, there were limbs seen growing too. This leads to why they are mindless and don't act on their own. Then they experimented with mind control and needed a being that could use the device to control everyone, so they made the perfect/smartest being? idk, and hooked it up in the tank (the jumbled mess of bodies) if you look back at when it's in the tank you can see that it is hooked up with the mind control device for further evidence. As for why the boy is unhooking it, and why he can breathe underwater I have no clue. But that's just a theory, thx for reading. XD As for the actual ending tho, no clue, maybe it was his journey to make it to the other side of the world, or maybe to find land un-touched by civilization? Honestly no clue :P.

Imagine you're in a facility like this and the way you die is from random barrels rolling towards you. What do u use to record. How did pewds miss all of these... That's amniotic fluid, not water. The ending shows the blob(fused egg) not really escape as at 6:13 you see the same yet modelled landscape. Therefore, maybe there was an abortion, shown by the attempts of something trying to kill the boy. ALSO, seeing as they're the creators of LIMBO, LIMBO is where christians said that unbaptised dead babies go. Maybe some sort of link. and INSIDE being inside the womb. Also at times you would see that white ghost thing with black hair, it would have some sort of unbilical cord. yet again some sort of birth related it was a ghost of the child.

I love the subtle details in this game like for example at 13:08 when mark lands and the dust kicks up, it doesn't just fade away into nothing, it drifts into a larger cloud of dust and then it begins to settle. to those animators out their who likes that extra bit of detail, that is what dust does. another perfect example is when the chicks get shot out of the machine, if you look closely you'll see that not every chick made it. I did enjoy the game, but I didn't really enjoy the ending. Poor boy. Lol the secret ending is that he just shuts down the power to the entire base and that stops the bad guys for good. Doing things together is better? Seriously? I believe the boy represents cancer. Maybe not even the first bit of cancer. The people we see hunting the boy are antibodies, but he's able to sneak in by masquerading as a. good... red blood cell? Stay with me here. He gets inside. Slowly, he begins to gain control of other cells, but as time passes, we can see all the evidence of the city studying and analyzing these strange beings in an attempt to manipulate and control them. This could be chemo, radiation, etc. Advanced medicine. We finally see the boy join the others and become a full-blown tumor. It goes crazy in the body, destroying everything it can. When it bursts out onto the hillside, this could mean it's free to rest and grow slowly, or maybe that it's still within the control of medicine (because we see that hillside in the model. In the second ending, he just heads straight for the brain (in the cornfield) and kills the body instantly.

The Blob seems to die immidiadly when it managed to get outside of the building. Maybe the world outside was hazardous to it. It rather died free than live being controlled. Weird stuff.

What does the ending mean to YOU. Thanks for the walkthrough. I like that it's without commentary. Although I only really watched one specific short part around minute 54:00. I was missing one of the 20 mind-controlled people/corpses (the one that remained dead/silent. I had been there on the ledge before I discovered that they could hold me up and throw me, but for some reason I didn't even consider going there again when I knew about it (which was needed on three other parts of that puzzle anyway. What is this game about. Im listening yo inside out by chainsmokers while playing this game, and it feels very nostalgic. 18:18 Listen closely. You can hear a heart beat. Oh no, a kid seems to be escaping the system. He's been spotted on several occasions and keeps getting away. We have no way of knowing where he could be. Well, if you draw the locations of his sightings on a map, it makes a perfectly straight line. Its kind of uncanny actually, how the hell is he able to go so straight. Its like he's just moving in one dimension. But it makes him pretty predictable actually.

Awesome game. Have not see it just comentteiting fir fun. So the story is about a kid who runs away from the people so the people try to kill him because he is trying to be one of them and be free but he got two choices to do. First is to turn off the robot people or become one of them and be free. But when the girl gets him she knew that he was trying to be one of them so she helped them but when you see dead body's in the water is because she is trying to help the people but it failed also when it started it was a disease that made things die and that's is how things get worse you know what by looking at the video. The scientist is making the robot people and MAKEING the blobs. And the shock waves is because the scientist. And why the boy was running and Waring the red shirt is because they know that the boy was trying to be one of them. So the people that want the story is right here if you want to know.

I don't understand why this is underrated, it's has great story, graphics, characters, voice acting, side missions, collectables darklings, and the darkness itself, the list keeps going, in my opinion it's best game in the world, even better than darkness 2 but I still like that game too. My theory: This is some 1984 shit. This game right here presents the concept of people of a higher power controlling everyone's way of thinking. From the beginning of the game to the end, you see their experiments evolving from something morbid to something even more disturbing. Mind control worms. Developed technology. The blob represents an entire population - the Collective Mind. And when the Boy unplugs it from the machinery, he frees the people and joins them in their pursuit of free will. You may notice that the people progressively escape from the blob, until they die from falling down the hill. Their dying represents how much dependency they developed towards the scientists. Of all the ways to die in the game your first was to be crushed by a barrel from a door you just opened 😂. The world is split into two set of characters. Humans, and the mind controlled. The mind controlled can't operate without a host, that's why the blob exists, to be a conduit so the humans can control them. Obviously the blob doesn't like being manipulated, that's why it's tried numerous times to acquire subjects to try and free it. You can see this is true from the numerous dead bodies around traps. Why else would they need traps around mind controlled people? Why else do people attack you on sight? Because they know you're trying to free it. Obviously when you got closer to the blob it started to react to you, hence why everyone was so intrigued. When the blob died, so did all the mind controlled people. Everyone is free now.

The worms here look like the same mind control worms in limbo that land on your head. The alternate ending reveals you were one of the drone workers as well. The amalgamate blob was the queen bee working through it's own workers (as you see the boy works through other drones) and in the alternate ending when you shut down, aka killing the queen bee, you go into the crouch mode as you see all the other worker drones have been doing throughout the game. You were the amalgamate blob the whole time. Lump sat alone in a boggy marsh... Why do people like to randombly jump in this kind of games, it may be fun for the people playing, but for me watching it just breakes immersion. I wish this was a book. That kid is a little bad ass! I've been gaming since 1993 when Myst hit took the gaming world by storm and I've not seen anything nearly as creative as this game.

Best explanation I've found: Now firstly, how did this all come to be? All the wrecked and damaged environments throughout the game suggest some kind of disaster, give the scale, likely apocalyptic. This idea is not only supported by the wrecked buildings, but by the fact that the protagonist travels through fully grown cornfields with nobody harvesting them, through barn and doors which have clearly been boarded up. And all those carts full of dead pigs, something happened before the starting point of this game, and I think it was the apocalypse. Now where does the blob come into this? Well at this point we all know about the secret ending where the kid pulls the big yellow plug and when he does, he goes limp and the towards the end of the game how he kinda gets assimilated into the blob easily? Well we can tell the boy is therefore part of those non-thinking husks, but he does think and when he's near the blob, it was clearly reaching out to him. My theory is that the child wasn't being controlled by the blob, he was the original or perhaps consciousness or the blob, separated from the body to enslave the blob. And perhaps, the blob was a lot bigger than we think, the size of the tank it was living in combined with the fact that they boy assimilated easily and when experiencing heavy impacts limbs fell off, these indicate that the blob was in fact a collective entity. It's several beings all combined together, and noticing how the boy controls the husks, he's the central consciousness of this collective hive mind. This explains why the humans had the blob entrapped, and why the boy was so far away, because that means they wanted to separate the boy from the blob as much as possible to minimise his influence. And the blob was in fact what they used to mass produce drone workers! Which I believe they're producing to rebuild their society which had previously fallen. This game clearly demonstrates an unexplained class system, but broken down, it becomes Husk (mindless workers) Masks (The people who are seemingly supervising the operations) and the researchers. Now the researchers didn't wear masks, perhaps the masks are relevant only to distinguish themselves from the Husks in the work environment. This also suggests the idea of how society could behave in the event of an unparalleled natural disaster, mass producing the work force, turning labour into some kind of product which can be purchased. Security is no longer human but robotic and the laborers are mindless husks which require no sustenance, which follows into what this game represents. So does the blob truly escape? That is hard to describe. It seems by the end of the game the humans were guiding the blob in a way, despite the people who have died, they watch the blob like it's a spectacle. a large group of people watched as the blob desperately reached for the cube on the end of the chain, only for it to get dropped under water. Were they simply trying to trap the escaped blob? But everyone seemed rather calm, more like an audience. And as for the escape, the landscape the blob lands in later, is identical to a scale model which the blob falls into earlier in the game. And the curvature of the wood supports at the end suggest a giant cylinder, like the case containing the scale model. Therefore, the blob sadly did not escape, and to be honest, it seems like the blob was guided there, to feel as though it had escaped. Which brings a final point to this. What does the blob represent? Well it's the masses. The audience of a TV show, the voters in an election, the work force of a company. effectively, the blob represents how authorities perceive and treat the masses, a giant mind controlled blob from which they can produce workers, who they can guide and trick into thinking they'd found their way to freedom but they got trapped inside a false freedom. Perhaps the media, politics, laws, and our environment, all control us from the outside, in order to put us inside. Inside the shapeless blob.

Through general analysis there is some what a story to this game only a theory anyway. From what I can figure out it's a system where the humans are using the hive mind which is the blob. To control the workers who then are altered to make sure they follow the commands that they are given. And the player which I think is a defect worker probably. Who is then understands that the hive mind aka the blob wants to be released from suffering. And I'm very sure that the blob wanting to be released from suffering a concrete conclusion. Because in the 2nd ending what the kid did was shut down the system which I talked about earlier. This is all a theory I came up in all I have seen so far given from multiple sources.

Ok I get the whole story in the game but I dont get the ball thingy when it fall to the ground. I think this is a metaphor for revolution; the boy is the flame of the revolution, at the start he is being chased and hunted by the dictatorship (trying to snuff it out) he is helped by citizens throughout to topple the regime. The facility could be a metaphor for this regime. These citizens (apart from the mermaids possibly) cannot think for themselves as they have been raised in this dictatorship (so this is why they're sort of brainless until someone controls them, the flame of the revolution controls them. However there are people in the government/higher classes who would like this dictatorship to fall, however they want to replace it with another one and have planned this thoroughly. These are the scientists and/or the onlookers. This would explain why everything was so conveniently placed throughout the facility, although it wasn't made so obvious that the 1st dictatorship would notice. The blob of people represents the revolution taking full force with all citizens working together to topple the regime. It eventually ends this dictatorship when it kills the boss-like figure sitting in the chair by the window. However the scientists/onlookers contain this revolution while still making it feel like it is free. Thus the 2nd dictatorship has been formed. But that's just a theory, A GAY THEORY.

A light-hearted puzzle adventure about the importance of teamwork

BACTERIA BOY. I love you vids. I played around 60 (geez that feels like a lot) games in the seventh gen, and Limbo was my favorite. A clean, straightforward, responsive non-buggy thematic atomsepheric indie that just blew me away in its masterful simplicity. This was a really well made guide. It helped me make short work of these orbs, thanks a bunch. One of the worst endings I've ever seen, this game isn't as good as everyone thinks it is.

Bug playdead's inside houses. E foarte tare jocul. Also very interesting, I hadn't expected the game to progress as it had done. Initially I thought the concept was something reminiscent of Nazi Germany, or some other oppressive war like regime where the leaders and scientists forced the people to think and act a certain way. But it took a much more other worldly and interesting turn towards the end, my impression is the human blob in captivity was a scientific experiment (hence the clear showings of human experimentation leading up to before hand) which was like a concentrated sentience so as to control a mass of people, instead of mere individuals. It would seem the blob was utilizing the boy to save itself to escape. And my interpretation being that the workers and lower class individuals were controlled, whereas the scientists and white collars weren't (they seemed to have personality and free movement, unlike the workers. hence why they tried to re-capture the blob. I don't quite understand the underwater bits (women swimming) I assume they're experiments, but the inverted water really confused me. Not sure if there's meaning to that, seems like there should be as the rest of the game certainly seems to, but it could just be to vary level design. Despite that Limbo and Inside are very much the same in movement mechanics, I am still excited to see further games by this company, hopefully they'll make something full length on a much bigger scale. Something outside of 2D would be amazing, if they executed it well.

She looks about the same age, it's probable she was in the same situation on the run, and stuck around there to be safe, I mean look how afraid she is of the light, which acts as an antagonist throughout the game. Ok, my pieces here, lets go digging what we have already: 1) There's a factory in the middle of a island, as we see from the ending and trough all the way we go with the boy. He's going to this factory and there are people in his way trying to avoid that, as we see with the men in masks, the one's the can shoot him. The other figures are this 'brainless' people that clearly occupy a lot of jobs in the scenario, so I guess we can say that some people are producing these humanoids to work, and even selling them, as we see they are in the city controlled in lines to work probably and that that guy with a kid buys a bunch of them in the factory. 2) They (the Factory) don't seem to be working only in those humanoids that work, as we see there are a lot of other stuffs like controlling pulses of sound, and gravity on the flux of the water. and even other creatures like the 'mermaids' underwater. It's funny because we see them (the mermaids) as we suppose at first, attacking' him, but they actually are trying to help him since the beggining because they're trying to grab him to the bottom and so he dies, then when one of them finally do it she plugs something to him that has the same color of the helmets he was using to control the humanoids. This I didn't fully understood, maybe what happens is that his body dies, but to avoid the disappearence of his consciousness they pass it to him again by this, so he can breath because his vital body died. 3) So those helmets are the props to the name 'INSIDE' as we see that those are probably used to make one man work with a thousand muscles. Although, as we pass trough the game we see those other creatures that can move by themselves, like the mermaids. In the factory, and there are also humanoids that moves from themselves and those two are the ones that helps the boy for it's own, these are not controlled. 4) Than we see that those things are developing some kind of consciousness in their most higher forms, or maybe it's caused because they're close to the island, or maybe they are different species, but the thing is: didn't we notice that the boy is actually one of them? Ok, we see that those first 'brainless' humanoids in the city don't die or spill blood, but the boy do. The ones in the factory can die, and they bleed. Even though the humanoids are all grown up, they seem to have different shapes, so maybe they didn't put a kid there too to doesn't make it too obvious? But I really thing the boy is one of them and he's trying to free them all, and we can see that this is the motivation for the helps he gets in his what is the boy after all right? 5) The boy really seem to be actually the empty shell of the plan, and he's actually being controlled by the one's in the factory, those being INSIDE him, maybe he's the 'core' of the consciousness of theses creatures, and they are controlling him to get out of there. And this really can be done, once they seem to share this connectivity between them, as we see with the 'brainless' ones so that '1 mind' can control 'all of them. The thing work backwards with it, as in this situation 'all of them' controls '1 mind. He's clearly not human, he doesn't show emotions, he doesn't get tired, he's a kid and knows a lot of things, and mainly: He knows the way to the factory.
